December 1962; Reverend Fr. Michael Courtney congratulating Thomas Doyle, Parish Clerk of St Mary's Church in Castlegregory and St Brendan's Church in Cloghane. Fr Courtney, home from his mission work in Nigeria, presented Mr. Doyle with the Bene Merenti Medal on behalf of Pope John, in recognition of Mr Doyle's 40 year service as Parish Clerk. Also in the photo are Mr. Doyle's wife, Nellie (left) and Davy Fitzgerald.
