Sunday 20th August 1967; Descendants of Daniel O'Connell at Derrynane Abbey. Once the home of 'The Liberator', Daniel O'Connell, the Abbey was re-opened by President Eamon de Valera. Mass was celebrated by Daniel O'Connell's great great grandson Rev. John M. O'Connell of London, in the Chapel that Daniel O'Connell built onto the 18th Century House.
