27th December 1962; A protest meeting at the Grand Hotel of the Kerry Greyhound Owner's Association. The meeting was called after the Kingdom Cup was cancelled at Ballybeggan Park. The Start of the days coursing had been delayed because of frost on the ground. Finally the directors of the coursing meeting decided at 12:45 that the ground was fit for coursing but the Greyhound owner's considered it too hard.

September 1967; Mr Maurice O'Reilly, owner of a nine hole golf links in Waterville. Mr Billy Huggard, proprietor of the Butlers Arms Hotel, Waterville, took a 25 year lease on the links. The links lay idle during the summer because the old leasees failed to agree on the terms of an agreement drawn up by Mr O'Reilly. Mr O'Reilly confirmed that Mr Huggard agreed to take the property for an annual rent of œ600. Mr Huggard planned to open the course for play in 1968, and in future years to lay out a further nine holes.
