Preparation of the Site for the Roger Casement Memorial

27th March 1967; On Easter Monday, members of the Banna Strand Memorial Committee from the locality as well as from Limerick, Dublin, Tralee and Nenagh prepared the site for the Roger Casement Memorial at Banna Strand. They removed the flagstaff erected for last year's Good Friday sod cutting ceremony and levelled the ground. At the extreme right is Mr William Mullins, Moyderwell, who took a message from Casement to the 1916 leaders. On his right is Mr Eamonn O'Griobhtha of Dublin, who represented the Monteith family, and next to him is Mr Eamonn O'Mahony, Limerick, Chairman of the Banna Strand Memorial Committee. Also in the group are Mr Tadgh Smalle, Limerick; Mr John Joe O'Connor, Tralee, Secretary of the Memorial Committee and Mr Sean Flynn, Nenagh, Clerk of Works.
