A Sinn Féin Protest
29th October 1970; Public Monuments were draped with black crepe by Sinn Féin members on the eve of the visit of European Commisioner Sicco Mansholt, the architect of the EEC's policy on agriculture to the Annual Macra na Feirme Autumn Rally in the Mount Brandon Hotel, Tralee. Sinn Féin were protesting against Ireland's entry into the EEC.
