

Ardfert Parish Schools Strike
15th January 1968; Mr Jerry Allman, President of the INTO, collects the keys of the five school in Ardfert Parish. The schools were temporarily closed due to inadequate heating and unsanitary conditions. The schools were: Ardfert, Banna, Barrow, Kilmoyley and Tubrid. Also in the photo are: Brendan Scannell, Tarbert, INTO Central Executive Committee; T Walsh, Chairman, Tralee INTO; Mr T Kirby, Principal, Ardfert NS; and Seamus P O'Connor, Ballymac, Secretary of the Tralee INTO.
