

Unloading Grain in Fenit
20th April 1966; The London registerd s/s Basildon (584 tons net.), under the command of Captain Pearce, was one of the last oil-fired Steamships in Fenit. It took three days to unload the cargo of grain that was then moved to Tralee in bulk by road. The vessel was built in 1940 and had a crew of twelve.
