

Air Accident In Kilflynn
30th May 1964; Mr John Byrne, Upper Tullig, Kilflynn, and an English friend who was piloting a small private plane at the time, had a remarkable escape from injury when the aircraft hit a concealed tree stump on take-off and was overturned on the runway at Kilflynn. The two men scrambled out of the wreckage and were able to continue their journey to Dublin by car.
