Dunquin Protest

5th April 1971; Participants in a march from Dunquin to Dublin protest outside the Gleneagle Hotel. The aim of the march was to focus attention on the Government's refusal to re-open the national school in the area. Taking part were members of the Cearta Naisiunta organisation based in the Kerry Gaeltacht, Gluaiseacht Cearta Sibhialta na Gaeltachta and Cumann an Chadhanaigh, an Irish language organisation based in UCC.
