O'Reilly's Golf Links in Waterville
September 1967; Mr Maurice O'Reilly, owner of a nine hole golf links in Waterville. Mr Billy Huggard, proprietor of the Butlers Arms Hotel, Waterville, took a 25 year lease on the links. The links lay idle during the summer because the old leasees failed to agree on the terms of an agreement drawn up by Mr O'Reilly. Mr O'Reilly confirmed that Mr Huggard agreed to take the property for an annual rent of £600. Mr Huggard planned to open the course for play in 1968, and in future years to lay out a further nine holes.
