

The Macra na Feirme Autumn Rally
30th October 1970; Kieran Curtin, President, Macra na Feirme speaking in the Mount Brandon Hotel, Tralee at the Macra na Feirme Annual Autumn Rally. Delegates listened to a discussion of the pros and cons of Ireland's proposed entry into the EEC. Principle guests were European Commisioner Sicco Mansholt, the architect of the EEC's policy on agriculture who discussed his plans for farmers in the EEC, and Mr James Gibbons, Minister for Agriculture. The meeting was also attended by Most Rev. Dr. Eamonn Casey, Bishop of Kerry.
