

Ardfert Parish Schools Strike
15th January 1968; A group of girls try to keep warm at Tubrid National School, one of the Ardfert Parish schools that were temporarily closed when the into withdrew teaching staff due to inadequate heating and unsanitary conditions. The other schools were: Ardfert, Banna, Barrow and Kilmoyley. The school was re-opened after oil-fired heating and electric lighting were installed.
