American Film Star Jane Mansfield Arrives in Tralee

23rd April 1967; A crowd outside the Mount Brandon Hotel in Tralee as American film star Jane Mansfield arrives for a press conference after the hotel's management cancelled her scheduled appearance. The announcement came after letters from the Bishop of Kerry Most Rev. Dr Moynihan and the Dean of Kerry Right Rev. Mons. John Lane were read out at masses throughout the Diocese asking people not to attend the performance. Miss Manfsield left the following day protesting that she had not intended to put on a disrespectful show. Billy Clifford is seated at the right of the photo.
