

The Unveiling of a Plaque to The O'Rahilly
1st May 1966; A crowd of 150 people from all over the country gathered in Ballylongford to pay tribute to the memory of the O'Rahilly, who died in action in The 1916 Rising in Dublin. A plaque was unveiled on the house in the Square where he was born and lived until the family moved to Dublin. The O'Rahilly's five sons and their families were present at the ceremony.
