A Search Party in Carrantuohill

20th April 1966; Scores of civilians join Gardai in a search for 16 year old Kenneth Bedford who fell 800 feet to his death on Carrantuohill. Kenneth was one of a party of 13 teens on a tour of Kerry, led by a vicar. The weather was excellent when the group started their ascent. A mist came down, making the descent very difficult. Kenneth and a girl, Linda Freeth (2nd right), separated from the group.
