8th April 1966; Survivors of the 'Aud' and the U19 Submarine involved in the landing of Casement, Monteith and Bailey on the Kerry Coast on Good Friday, 1916, photographed at Banna Strand, on Good Friday, where the sod was turned on the site of a memorial to Roger Casement and Captain Robert Monteith. Dr. Herbert Mackey gave an oration in which he called on the British Prime Minister, Mr Harold Wilson to initiate an investigation into the alleged forgery of the Casement Diaries, which were used to kill any hopes of Casement's reprieve after his sentence of death. Dr. Mackey championed the cause for the return of Roger Casement's remains to Ireland from Pentonville prison graveyard.
